As a recently qualified (London based,300hr) FI(A) i am currently looking for a job - I am doing what i consider the "obvious" stuff such as sending CVs out to local flying schools/ringing up people etc. etc. but not having too much joy.

My question - is there some other forum (publications, internet sites, whatever) or tactic that i should be considering. Or is it just a case of just plugging away until i get 'lucky'.

Another related question - what is the current job market like for instructors based round London; my guess is that the recent bad weather has not been too good for prospects, but interested in anybody who may have actual experience.

Cheers

It's very simple i'm afraid.

Get your shirt and tie on, get in a car and spend 2-3 days around London visiting all the clubs, sometimes more than once if poss.

You will stand a much better chance of finding a job by personal visit than ever sending out 100 cv's

good luck and if you fancy moving north i might know of somewhere.

Hi Mr Petrie,

How are you doing?

Hard getting a go at this instructing lark isn't it? Have you looked at Stapleford? Big school with lots of students and instructors - have a look at Southend as well, dont think there is much at Seawing, but Willow Air might be worth a look.

I know its hard but maybe a shave and a hairbrush might help :p :p :ok:

Hope you get somthing, try each place time and time again, its about getting lucky as much as anything else.
