Hello FI's et al. .. .I'm trying to get a feel for how many hours a PPL-level instructor could hope to accumulate in the UK.. .. .Thanks guys!

Hello GS,. .. .Doing just weekends, bank holidays and some odd evenings, last year I did 380 hours of instruction. Hope this gives you something to go on. Perhaps the full-time chappies (and lassies!) might give you a better feel for things.. .. .Regards, GT.

As a rule of thumb, and taken over a full year, you can expect to accumulate about 100hrs per year for each day per week you regularly work.. .. .e.g. 2 regular days per week = 200 hrs per annum etc.. .. .Over many years this always seems to have worked out for me, but remember it is over the whole year. You might make 65-70% of this total if you just worked over the busy summer period.

Alot depends on the weather. I was full time and did about 500 hours last year teaching PPL. But the weather was very poor for the students alot of the time. Pointless flying them somedays.
