Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am studying Trans. Cat. Aircraft Performance at Uni and have a paper to produce which essentially deals with the main areas of FAR25 performance certification (TKOFF / CL / CRS / LAND CL / LAND) or CAO 20.7.1B (for those downunder) and listing those areas in order of "Safety Importance!".

I know this can be argued many different ways and I am interested in any links - particulary wrt studies and ntsb / BASI reports relating to this subject.

I am interested in input from those who sit in the pointy end of a heavy jet aircraft and have real practical advice on the subject.

I would summarise the considerarions of CAO 20.7.1B / FAR25 perf. in relaTION TO DETERMINING A DEPARTURE weight as:

1.
Runway Limited
(ASDA, TODA, TORA vs ASDR, TODR, TORR)
2.
Climb Limited (gross gradients) (Weight, Alt Temp Limits)
3.
Obstacle Limited (net gradients)
4.
Landing Limited Takeoff Weight
5.
Enroute Terrain Clearance / Driftdown limits
6.
Approach Climb Gross Gradients
7.
Landing Weight Limits
(LDA V LDR)
8. and of course Structural, Brake Energy and Tyre Limits

Any papers or studies you can email me or link me to are greatly appreciated.
