With Boeing having selected GE and RR to provide engines for the 7E7 where does this leave PW's future in the business? The PW4000 94" isn't selling any more (except on USAF KC767s), the larger versions have been pretty much eclipsed by RR and GE on the 330 and 777, and the PW6000 seems to have been a bit of a disaster. They have a share in IAE but RR is already talking about a family of two shaft engines to replace everything from the BR710/715 up to the V2500, and they are partners in the GPT7600 for the A380. Other than military business I would have thought that this means two major engine makers inthe future - just like airframe makers. Any thoughts?

Well, I should definately sell all your shares in oil companies. If P&W stop making big engines then Mobil and Exxon profits are going right down the plughole.:D
