Can anyone help me on this please.

Someone has mentioned GRADE or DODAR with reference to Human factors.

Does this ring any bells for anyone as i don't remember anything like this in my ATPLS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Joe,

DODAR is an acronym used in problem solving as a means of making decisions if the SOP's or Checklists don't cover an abnormality.

D - Diagnosis - What's gone wrong?
O - Options to resolve the problem
D - Decide the most appropriate course of action
A - Assign and Act to resolve the problem. Use airborne crew and ground units if they are able to assist.

R- Review - Did it work and if not change to an alternative course of action.

Hope this helps

cheers rich,

sifting through my notes looking for what GRADE is. I think it must be along the same lines. Even a google isn't coming up with anything relevant.

thanks

As I recall, GRADE is:

Gather (info/data)
Review
Analyse
Decide
Execute

1st Edit
Not too sure about the "Analyse", but it's along those lines, anyway.

2nd Edit
Just remembered! It's "Assess", not Analyse. You can see how well-used this stuff is in real life!

The E is very important to make sure you have done the right thing.
