I have been thinking about this for a while now, and just to the left of the door, there is like a hole, with a thing sticking out of it. What is that for?

ah! would it be that on a Jetstream 41 aircraft also...and once again sorry about the real crappy techie language! its truly awful i know!!

Probably not. To the best of my knowledge, the J41 does not have an APU. It may be an A/C outlet? This link should take you to a South African Airlink J41.

yes bus429, on the aircraft pictured it is, but the jetstream 41 DOES NOT have an APU, and it is therefore impossible it is one of them!!
The picture was just so people knew what i was tlking about, thanx for all the replies btw, it was very helpful!

It could be the negative release valve on the J41. Can any J41 guys help us out with this one??
