After looking through the jaa website, I'm still at a loss to how valid my license is in europe.

I was born in the UK and I have a JAA cpl/ir (fATPL). I think that Germany and Austria are in the JAA (both places I would like to live and work).

Is my license valid in these countries or do I have to pass their national exams?

Thanks in advance

Hello Wobblyprop,

At the JAA website, under Licensing, you will find an overview showing the 17 JAA states that so far have implemented JAR-FCL. These states will normally accept your license without further formalities.

In addition to these, many JAA states will accept your FCL license even if they themselves haven't implemented yet.

Cheers,
