Hi, Hope someone can help. A small group of us has just completed ground and sim training on the B737-300 at GECAT (UK) sponsored by our airline. Bad timing - as the airline has had problems and has made us redundant before we completed the circuits required to complete the type rating.

Has anyone been in the same situation and is in a position to give us a few pointers which we may not have thought of to complete the rating(circuits).

Kind Regards and Merry Christmas

Thanks for the advice C.R. I'll call the beehive. I'm positive though that after completing ground, sim and Licence Skill Test, the only hoop left should be a base check. Anyway I will get cracking first thing on Monday.

Cheers

Sorry to hear about your blow at the last hurrdle.

It shouldn't be a problem because after all you only have to do a few circuits and you get the magic type rating, it might cost 3 or 4 grand plus, but at the moment even if you've only got 200 hrs and a 737 rating you'll probably get a job with the low costs so it's definately worth forking out the last little bit.

one of my mates self sponsored a 737 rating , costing £20k but straight afterwards got three job offers and thats with 200hrs !!

Dont know which airline did this but have you tried astreaus as they do 737 type ratings.

I imagine it was NOW.

I would approach GLOBESPAN and ASTRAEUS. They may take the dough, get you the rating and give you a job. Who knows..

Commiserations anyhow, this lot if it was NOW have acted like a bunch of amateurs.

Astraeus are the guys i reckon, the number is on their website, The guy who will most likely do it (if possible) is an absolute star (NF)

Jack Sparrow call me on monday.

Thanks for the good advice everyone. Tailscrape: I couldn't possibly comment:) Getting some wildly varying quotes at the moment. Hopefully things will become clearer (and cheaper) as the week rolls on. I'll let you know how much the damage is when all the quotes come in.

All the best

Jack Sparrow,

I hope all of you get it sorted, I know a couple of the guys (maybe you?!) on that course and whatever they do, they should definitely not come back to the muppet show if they can at all help it.

Cheers
