I'm looking at a 737 manual for Continental.

I've looked at this manual closely, and Continental has an interesting Checklist/Flow procedure.

For example, the Captain will call for the Taxi Checklist; once he does that, then the FO and Capt will begin their Taxi flow.

I find it interesting that they should start their flow "after" the Checklist is called for.

It would seem that you could theoretically call for the Checklist, and then not actually start reading the Checklist until several seconds later (or longer).

Is that common?

Also, looking at the Taxi checklist, I'm having trouble figuring out when you'd do the Take Off Brief. Do you do the Take off Brief when it's called for in the checklist? Or do you do it as part of the flow?

Also, in the Checklist, the FO's reply for things like Trim and Airspeed bus are "Set". Does he actually reply "Set" or does he state the actual numbers, ie., V1 is 132 knots, VR is.... etc, etc.

Any Continental Drivers care to enlighten me?

Thanks.
