Hey all.
Just wondered if any 737NG's (NOT the BBJ) are used on ETOPS flights? Is it ETOPS certified? I know Aloha use 700's to the mainland from Hawaii, does anyone do trans atlantic?
Thanks

Yes they are (or can be) certified ETOPS as well as some older -200s.

Check out the Boeing aero magazine on line or these links or do a "google" search.

enjoy.
;)

"Newness" of the jet is not an issue but the new jets designed from the start to satisfy the requirements are obviously a better choice for an airline.
Also the BBJ is not subject to the commercial rules of ETOPS unless it's used as a common carriage jet. Think of it as a big Learjet and you will see what I mean.

If I recall well, the DUS/EWR service now uses A319s.
