View Full Version : Just How Long Is My New Licence Valid?

Having just passed my flying test and received my licence, I notice that it is only valid for 5 years. I understand the criteria for the 2 yearly currency revalidation, but I cannot find out, even by looking on the CAA Personell Licencing web site, what happens on the 5th year.

Can anyone advise me?...and yes I did do air-law (passed with quite a high mark actually...but this is not the forum in which to blow my own trumpet!)...But I'm no where near my notes or my study or my Trevor Thoms....I'm trying not to be paranoid about the time left, but it looks like I now only have 4 years 9 months and 2 weeks to go before I'm grounded!!!

Any views would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mr Teddy

After 5 years you have to pay for a renewal. It's a paper exercise and therefore an income generator for the CAA (bit like the new driving licences being valid for 10 years)
