For the first time in 24 years, my licence lapsed a couple of months ago. Basically, due to an unbelievable combination of an aircraft fault that took ages to properly diagnose and fix, followed virtually immediately by me breaking my ankle :{ and then, within a month of me getting my medical back and checking out on the aircraft, a rather important part of the aircraft being bent, I had only flown 1 hour in the last two years.
Anyway, after an aborted attempt a couple of weeks ago (broken exhaust on the aircraft), yesterday I flew a 1.5 hour refresher with an instructor and then successfully completed a revalidation skills test :D
Now I remember exactly how I felt all those years ago when I passed my GFT.
