According to the Met Office, the 1350Z METAR for Ronaldsway reads as follows:

EGNS 261350Z 18009KT 160V230 5000 FU ....

According to the glossary 'FU' means smoke!

Is there a fire at Ronaldsway? Or is there shome mishtake?

We are in the season for stubble-burning, and it's not all been outlawed...

The Manx heathens haven't heard of smokeless fuel, and its so bloody cold (and breezy) here one keeps the fire burning all year! Seriously though, the manned met office here (where you can and do still talk to a real met man) always calls haze "smoke".

And why has this been moved to tech log????????
