Some Irish airports ie. Kerry & Knock so far, are charging a passenger departing charge for light aircraft.

Example Knock airport on 29th August 2003, Cessna 172 with 4 pilots were charged 65 euro, ie. 20euro landing charge and 3 passengers at 15 euro each.

It is time to blacklist such airports until they reconsider the charges.

As if a few landing charges of 65 euro will make any difference to their million euro budgets.

Perhaps if they offer some decent FBO type service we might consider paying these type of charges.

Perhaps if put a Ryanair sticker on the tail you'd get away with it:E
Seriously though, it's a bizzare way of attracting trade, and although the practise has been on going for a few years now, they seem to have got away without being investigated by the EEC - perhaps they just haven't got around to Ireland yet, but fear not - their time will come.

Same happens if you use some airfields on the continent.

EBAW and EHEH spring to mind.

There is some latitude in the amount of crew you require on flights into these places.
