Yes it is, we wanted to give something back to the Airline Community. We all know some of the 49er’s personally and we all know how we would feel if we were one of them. You know that old saying “There go I but for the Grace of God” (or something like that) and so we have tabled a proposal through the appropriate channels which in a nutshell says that we will deposit a percentage of the sales from our projects into a special fund set up and administered by the 49er’s committee to further assist them through this unimaginable time.
We don’t want to be involved in the politics; just simply assist fellow pilots who we feel are victims. It is important to note that we do not have any official response (sanction) from their committee yet and until we do this is just theory. Hopefully we will hear from them soon.
With regard to the golf tourney, this has evolved from a thread we started over on the PPRuNe Bashes Forum to host a get together for PPRuNer’s in the Cayman. It was then suggested that this might be another good venue to further assist them by hosting a 49er’s Golf Tournament with all the proceeds again going to them personally. We liked the idea, but this will be totally dependent on interest and response.
