You make a very good point. I didn't mean for my list to be a definitive one. I am sure there are a few more ways that training of landing decisions can be improved. I hope others will post their ideas here. A critical element of effective simulator training is being willing to point out areas for improvement to the candidate. If you're a simulator instructor or check pilot, ask yourself this question. Would you rather debrief them after a less than perfect sim session, or after an accident on the line?
