Thanks for that Global Nomad.
I try to state facts and look at things from a perspective that if I moan no one will listen anyway.
Most companies people work for are not ideal be it in aviation or not. I chose to work here and still enjoy it. I try to remember why I joined and why I left my last company. It still all adds up and if I was in the same position again I would make the same choices.
I have being looking at PPRUNE since it started a very long time ago. This was used as a rumour network but became a site for people to air their grievances. I took 5 years away from this site after 1989 because of the commotion of the Oz pilots strike. 5 years later the grievances were still being aired. (and still are today)
I know that people are working hard in EK and there is nothing they or I can do about it. Show me an airline that does not make its employees work for their money nowadays. There will always be good and bad points to each company. Ironically alot of people are tired and pissed off. The FTL is being used to the max where it is really only for guidance. I have over 100 hours credit this month and just over half that is block time. I know that nothing will change. Funnily enough though not that many are actually leaving EK. Those that are, are not necessarily going to better companies, they will no doubt find problems and grievances in the places they go.
There is no union here to address these problems, something I have dealt with in the past. I still say that I do not work as hard as I did in my previous life. When the Boeings start going trans Atlantic no doubt I may find out. As I have said previously if I am unhappy I will leave. To go where though I am not sure.
So back to the original thread of delays on the B777-300ER's. Now Boeing have decided to go back to work, heres to the 5 we are now getting in Noember. Its going to be a busy month.
