Bose ProFlight headset user reviews

BoeingDriver99, I just saw this thread. I was on leave all of November and December had me in the sim etc.
I have the Proflight V1. I believe the V2 addressed a lot of the niggles although I must say, they are pretty minor for me.
Yes the case is large - about the same size as the QC35. Putting the headset away in that case is an exercise in frustration. Whoever designed it is clearly a sadist.
I do get audio "cracks" and to remedy that, I disconnect the boom and reconnect it, fixes it for several months.
Sound quality is excellent. You're not quite as disconnected from the Cabin Crew or Passengers so that's good. Either tapping off the ANR is quick or simply removing the ear bud works very well too. The mic works very well.
I have no dramas with the ANR in the top position (flying a Challenger 350). It is very good and doesn't leave you as "remote" as the A20 can.
They are very light on but they do take a little time to work out the best position. They can feel like they are falling off your head. They're not.
I clip the battery pack to the side wall, that takes the weight off the battery pack nicely. (2 x AA).
I would only go back to the Bose A20 if I was operating in an ambient high noise environment, eg, like a turboprop.
Right now, Bose have a deal on the Proflights or A20s, buy one and get a QC thrown in.

Has anyone used the Proflight for GA? My company allows us to buy our own Proflight 2 through a scheme, but nothing else. I also do some GA flying, and would like to use it for this as well if possible, rather than buy another headset. I realise it’s probably not the first choice for GA, just wondered if it was workable?

I am using Bose Pro Flight Ver 2 on Airbus A320 series aircraft. The microphone input level is too low, especially for intercom and PA. Does anyone have the same problem and any solution to this?
No, never had that problem, but sometimes have the problems that people wearing this headset, or other very good ANR headsets, tend to speak in a very low volume which makes it hard to understand for their colleague or ATC.

I read all your posts about ProFlight and A20, after couple of months, do you still recommend them? How do you find them now? Is ProFlight better than a20 in a 737 environment? I have a20 and think about ordering ProFlight2

I am curious to hear how people find the PF2 if anyone could share. I have a A20 and have used it for 10 years in 737NG, 757, 767, 737MAX and various GA aircrafts and I have found it to be by far the best headset I’ve used although being big and bulky.

I have the Pro Flight series 2 and have the same issue with the loud 'bang' sound when moving the mic.
it seems to be more prominent when having the mic switched to the right side, but it now happens also on the left side.
Headset is unusable like this. The sound is really really loud and harmful.
I have sent it in for a repair but got it back with the problem still temaining.
Are there more people with this issue? Or has anyone found a solution?
I'm going to return mine and ask for an exchange.

I did the upgrade to Version 2 a while ago. Cured all the problems. I haven't had an issue since I did that and this was some time ago (years).

Hello,
Did you manage to find any solution. I have this same problem with real loud bang as well when moving mic.
Curious whether Bose accepts the responsibility of defect?

I have the same problem with the Bose ProFlight Series 1 headset. I sent it to them under warranty and explained the problems I experienced, such as when I move the mic, I hear banging continuously, the noise cuts out, sometimes I can't even hear any sound in the headset, etc...
I have spoken to several people who have this headset, and all have complained about the same thing. Bose "fixed" my headset; however, after 2 weeks, it started doing it again. This was last July 2023. Now, my warranty has expired, and I have no idea how to proceed with this as they will never admit that they have a manufacturing defect.

You sent in your headset. 2 weeks later you get it back, repair report: hardware/software not stating WHAT exactly they did.
Within days you have same problems as before.
They obviously hope your warranty runs out so you are stuck with it and they wont have to take REAL responsibilities.

ProFlight 2, ABSOLUTE GARBAGE.
I used to have a cheap Headset.
As I started flying on the Boeing 747, I though, it is now the time to invest in a Proper Headset for optimal comfort for those long haul flights. ANC is very important. The 747 is not very quiet, so Id like to protect my ears for the many years to come.
Well I bought it beginning of 2023. Within a few months the problems start to shop up in the form of crackling sounds when on Interphone during the flight. Unbearable.
It makes it impossible to use the headset. So I send it in to Bose for repair.
Got it back. Few months later, AGAIN, the same Crackling sounds.
Send it in AGAIN.
Got it back, first trip, and yes there it is AGAIN.
Fiddle around with the plug to the connecter in the cockpit.
Changed side of Boom. NOTHING works.
So have to send it in AGAIN... BUT this time I am going to call with them and claim a COMPLETE NEW Headset. Not again some "hardware/software" repair.
Lost all trust in this piece of garbage.
The concept was great. Light weight. Not a heavy clamp on your head, but all in all it seems to be flimsy and of horrible quality. Something you do not expect from a brand like Bose.
The service level is -10.
