Paul aka BelArgUSA or Skipper 747

Any current info about him? Is he doing well? Seems that last time he was here about 3 years ago.

Hear, hear! One of our most interesting and erudite posters. Trust he's in good health.

Looks a lot younger in the photo than I would have expected...

I seem to recall that he retired several years ago and implied that he would also be retiring from aviation forums........I could be mistaken.

It's a pity, along with 411A provided a lot of good solid experience and opinions, hope he's here still with us.

Have to say rather do miss 411A still... there was nobody quite like him.

Loved it when he clashed swords.

Last I heard,

Hello everyone -
Well, so far I survived the cancer cells, looks like chemo and radiotherapy worked - at least so far, and I might last a few more months - or who knows, a few years. But having no larynx (= NO VOICE, not even a grunt!) is not easy. My pilot licences are gone - I guess I could get a PVT VFR only without need for R/T - I sold my little L-21 to a flight school, they will use it to tow gliders or banners so no need for a licence - I practice with an electrolarynx - and eventually will have the sexy voice of Darth Vader...
But funny - I cannot stay away from airplanes - My buddy Kevin Cooyar (Logistic Air) needed someone to write the manuals for a Malaysian AOC, on which he will put the 9 planes (747) he operates, so he called on me to go to KL, and get busy, paid with peanuts, Tiger beer, satay and wild women... well, 66 years old farts cannot resist these little girls, who are in the proper position (for prayers) 5 times a day...
I hanged my hat from PPRuNe - so do not expect anything there for me, but if you guys ever need me for any reason, such as info, just send me an email to my Yahoo address - I might maybe continue to work for Kevin in his ops office, if it is not boring.
Best regards to all of you -
Happy contrails

Thanks, galaxy flyer,

That may explain an unanswered PM years ago. I wonder if he made it to KL.

Very sad. All too often the best go early. "Happy contrails", BelArgUSA...

From memory he was not happy a moderator deleted a post, said he was about to retire to Brazil and would no longer post on PPRuNe.

Here is his comment from 2009:

Greetings from BelArgUSA

Hola Friends -
I recently retired from contributing to PPRuNe, as one of my posts was removed without notification, when expressing regrets that hobby "simulator pilots" receive "equal treatment" in pilot technical discussions dealing with training, aircraft or performance.
Obviously, they should be given their own "corner" within PPRuNe, as other aviation enthusiasts have... but certainly not receive red carpet treatment in the Tech Log forum, and waste my time to research high altitude weight limitations until I eventually realized I was dealing with a computer hobbyist inquiry.
From now on, I will continue to occasionally read PPRuNe, but my transponder mode selector switch is now in "stealth" mode. As I had my own detractors here in the forum, I hope they will be pleased with my decision.
Hope that you will make good use of "Happy Contrails" -
Best regards -
Where is BelArgUSA?

He has posted here as recently as 2015:

My chances for a U.S Major with a Green Card

Thanks for all that, Airbubba,
Fingers crossed he is fully recovered and having a Mark Twain-style laugh at our expense!
