Was Bill Henderson ex TFC in Dundee? or another bod, thanks. Colin Finnie rings a bell too, but from where? Not idle curiosity, but this one passed me by as I was 7yrs into a 13 yr sojourn in Froggy-land at the time & didn't hear at the time who was onboard.

Yes, Bill Henderson was with Tayside at Dundee. He later moved to Aberdeen as Manager of Aberdeen Flying Club & later moved to Glenrothes to set up Tayside's operation there in the early 90's. Bill was a thoroughly nice guy & always very helpful - a real people person. He was co-pilot of the crash aircraft.

Colin Finnie was Formerly with Bristows (from 1988) in Aberdeen, Stornoway & Unst (probably others too) flying the S-61. He moved to Airtours flying the A320 during the late 90s. He was hugely energetic & enthusiastic. Colin is second left in the picture below (sorry about the poor quality).

Yes 10 years R.I.P. to all concerned. Colin Finnie for sure his luck ran out that day. He had been taken off a Command course, can't remember the reason, not to do with Colin, probably financial. He went on sby and the rostered FO for the flight went sick.

Was Colin by any chance the son of John Finnie? If so, can anyone put me in touch with John; we lost contact many years ago.

We were just starting our Belfast up for a positioning flight back to Stansted after a night stop. I remember seeing the RFF charging off to a crash gate and thinking that they must be doing a timed exercise? What struck me was how quickly flying operations started again. As we taxied out the RN Sea King was just landing on scene. It made for a very sombre flight home.....

RIP
