It is a real shame ITVV don't produce anything new. Their last aircraft (VS 744) was I think released back in 01. I wonder why they have stopped.
There are some other companies out there producing flight deck videos, but none really live up to ITVV.

Gricesj If a company captain on leave can't travel in the flight-deck - which he can't - there's no way a Video camera man and producer can get close !
Anything done since 2001 must have either been courtesy of operating crew with camcorders or maybe a less compliant airline than a national carrier ?

Of course, thanks for clearing that up. It's just surprising that companies like WorldAirRoutes/Justplanes continue to knock them out. On some, the camera is certainly not fixed i.e. someone is operating it/them. But as you say Virgo, some airlines may allow this kind of activity.

Flight Deck Series
I note some of the credit names on the ITVV productions are the same as on the Discovery Channel's Flight Deck series.... so not too far off subject.
Does anyone know what Cpt Dave Steeley is doing now. He was the featured Captain in the Monarch Airbus A320 Flight Deck programme way back in 1995. I am sure I saw him on another programme as Captain of a Monarch A330.
Just wondering if he is still with Monarch.

Hi there,
When Monarch participated in the ITV series Holiday Airline, which after a few episodes the was axed???, he was still flying with Monarch and i believe he was flying the Airbus A330 out of Manchester. That was a few years back.
I'm not sure what company he works for or if he remained with Monarch Airlines!!
He really did seem to love flying the Airbus so i'd be very suprised if he was flying another aircraft type, it would be interesting to see where he is though.

I am sure with the proper permissions, from the airline involved, there should be no problem in an ITVV crew having access to a flight if it is all properly arranged.
It is a shame there haven't been any new videos for the last few years.

747............it's got nothing to do with the company. The FAA tells the CAA what to do, "in the interests of homeland security" and the CAA does it.
....................and it doesn't matter which route the aircraft is flying on.
(CAA staff, are of course, excluded from this ridiculous law)

Ok, perhaps I should have added from the company and the CAA. Then they could come under the 'Permitted Persons' that are allowed access to the flight deck as they would then have advance permission from the CAA.
The VS 747-400 video is the best, sad news about John Cullom though.
Would be good if some more videos came out soon!

ITVV Videos
Hi everyone,
As a keen teenager (and early 20s) I bought several of the ITVV cockpit DVDs
My favoutites are the A330-200 (Captain Julian Bond & FO Mark Hayley), B747-400 (Captain Alan Carter, FO Alan Rattigan and FO John Cullam) and the A320 Sim (Captain Alan Dix).
As the forum name suggests, my question is, where are these guys now?
Just in case any of them are ppruners: thanks guys for a great insight into your working lives, and for setting me on the road to following in your footsteps!

Found it
I belatedly found this information. I was really shocked to read about John Cullom-I actually had this video on at the time I read about John's death. Very very sad.
