PC 12 ditching
 

A PC12 with two pilots aboard sucessfully ditched between KSMX (Santa Maria, CA) and PHTO (Hilo, HI). The pilots were picked by a freighter and are enroute to PHNL at this hour. This airplane does not have that range capability so one must assume it had some sort of aux tank installed. The strange thing is this aircraft has made this same trip in the recent past so one wonders what mission is being accomplished that utilizes this PC12. FWIW there are several other "black" projects conducted out of Samat Maria. Worth noting the excellent coordination between Oceanic ATC and othe airline aircraft in the area at the time of ditching.
