Dozens injured after commuter train derails at Chicago airport
An eight-car commuter train derails at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, injuring 32 people on board More than 30 people have been injured when a train derailed at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport early this morning, after it failed to stop at an underground station at one of the busiest airports in the United States. The eight-car commuter train came off the tracks at approximately 2:50 am. It jumped 10 feet off the rails, crossed a platform and began to climb an escalator. Investigations as to why the train failed to stop are ongoing. However, Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) spokesman Brian Steele said it is likely that the train was travelling at a speed that was "higher than normal"............ http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/...a_2861226b.jpg |
That'll buff right out. Mr. Steele has quite a talent for stating the obvious.

I, as have millions of others, have been on that very same escalator.
Validates the theory that riding in the front car is a prudent move. In fact, if one WAS in the front car, I see no reason at all why one should have missed one's flight. |
