Uncorrected Vision for Airlines

Do airlines in the US reject pilots who do not have uncorrected 20/20 vision? There are no uncorrected vision requirements for a 1st class medical according to FAR 67.103, but I read somewhere that a 1st class medical isn't always enough and that United requires a 20/100 uncorrected visual acuity in each eye even if it is correctable to 20/20. Does anyone know if this is true and if other airlines (major carriers or regionals) also have uncorrected vision standards?

They cannot discriminate. A class I medical is just that. In the 80's and earlier the airlines had their own special requirements. I believe the "Americans with Disabilities Act" put that to an end.

20/20

Sport 08, you will be fine. As long as your vision is 20/20 (corrected or uncorrected). Good luck.
