Pilot: Passenger fell out of plane; Miami offshore search continues
The investigation began about 1:30 p.m. after a pilot who’d taken off from Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport in a Piper PA 46 issued an emergency radio call, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. “Mayday! Mayday! Mayday! I have a door ajar and I’m heading toward Tamiami,” the pilot calmly said. “I have a door ajar and a passenger that fell down. I’m six miles from Tamiami.” “You said you’ve got a passenger that fell out of your plane?” an air traffic controller asks. “That’s correct, sir,” the pilot responded. “He opened the backdoor and he just fell out the plane.” Pilot: Passenger fell out of plane; Miami offshore search continues - Miami-Dade - MiamiHerald.com Edit: There, I fixed it! |

I have some time in a PA46. That door is not that easy to open, so the passenger must have really wanted out.

PILOT IS SURVIVOR IN FREAKISH MISHAP - NYTimes.com |
many moons ago a guy thought he'd impress friends fishing near the island of Rottnest by 'dropping in on them'.
he hired a local tiger moth for a scenic flight and directed the unsuspecting pilot over to somewhere near where his friends were fishing. without the pilot being aware he unbuckled, stood up and departed the aircraft. events happened too fast for the pilot to stop him. what he didnt know as he leapt was that hitting water at speed was like hitting concrete. he died. the pilot was quite shocked by the event. |
