Las Vegas
 

Can anyone recommend some decent places to fly in and around the Las Vegas area. Am visiting there next week and would like a little bit more choice than just the strip area.

Big Bear is nice. So is 29 palms and the Joshua Tree national park.

Valley of Fire state park is a nice day trip (by car), less than an hour north of the city.

Ever heard of a small hole in the ground called 'The Grand Canyon' ? And while you're out that way you might want to take a few snaps of The Hoover Dam..

Drive out to Mount Charleston or Lake Meade. Rent a 4WD Jeep if you can.

Just got back, decided on a 1 hr intro lesson in a Heli, had a great flight, stayed around the local area and landed in Red Rock canyon, a really great experience.
