Express jet

Any truth in the rumour that Express jet will be sending crews and planes to work in Europe ????

weasil 19th June 2008 19:40

What I heard is that some of their pilots are going to work for FlyBe. Not sure about aircraft though...

smokey1 19th June 2008 19:43

No planes, just pilots. 30 planes being pulled by CAL though :ugh:

malc4d 19th June 2008 19:49

So how do they choose who goes, and when will it happen.....do the crews have to have a JAA license............? As a UK FAA CPL holder do i have time to apply for a job at EJ .....:ok:

Got a friend flying the 75 and 76 s for them..........hope he will be ok..

Weasil...... thanks........:O

Malc4d- The pilots who quit their positions at Express Jet will be the ones to go to FlyBE. The 30 planes being pulled by CAL that Smokey mentioned are, I assume ERJs that Express Jet will no longer be operating. It has nothign to do with CALs mainline fleet.

Pilots going over will be taking a company offered leave of absence; they do not have to quit for the U.K. contract.

The aircraft are not XJT's aircraft.

KleinerJet 20th June 2008 18:19

it appears as though expressjet pilots can take an unpaid leave of absence without benefits to fly E145 under contract for Flybe.
The positions are similar to what's currently easily found on crew leasing websites for 145 flying.

Ahh ok,
So not looking for UK FAA pilots then............;)
Will they have to have a JAA atpl ?

Not to apply for the contract. As was mentioned above, the various agencies that have been advertising the job FOR MONTHS now have said they will take U.S./FAA certificates.

Apparently, we got some recent information that there will be a HIGHLY RESTRICTIVE validation granted after the air law exam, classroom/academic, and the sim training.

Delta cancels ExpressJet CPA...

Delta announced today they are terminating their contract with ExpressJet. They have 23 aircraft based out of LAX doing Delta Connection flights. The carnage continues...

And no more ExpressJet branded flying. Back to just Continental Express and some charters.

It also seems Flybe only taking EU passport holders.
