Rather than posting on here I suggest you use the time to get an FAA ATP, its not very expensive or time consuming. You could then send out applications for jobs and see what comes of it.

Not talking directly about legal status, just about potentially losing the green card! If you want to keep that you will need to be present in the USA. If you want to work in the country as a pilot you will almost certainly require FAA certificates (may be exceptions if you are flying internationally on foreign registered airplane).

It would be nice if employers would guarantee employment if you got x type rating or whatever qualification but thats unlikely to happen. You will have to fork out for the ATP and THEN apply. As was said above, in the scheme of things its not that big a deal.

As for employment, which is what you asked about, who knows until you apply. There are not that many 737 operators in the USA and dont forget smaller ones such as Miami. The job market is better than it was at the time of your first posting but walking right into a command position may not happen. Dont forget to keep us posted on your progress

Has anyone in the USA ever heard of a company sponsoring a pilot who did not have a green card or US Passport? Is there any hope for this to ever happen? Maybe If one wined and dined the correct people??? haha:8

I am in a similar position, having recently aquired a green card.

At present I am on the 340 but I am interested to find out if there are any 330 Cargo operators. I checked the Tampa Cargo website but it is unclear if they accept any one other than nationals - as it seems they are part of Avianca?

Virgin is an option I suspect - any gouge on that? Their website says LAX or SFO so I am assuming they are hiring?

I have an ATP and I am looking at moving the whole family in about a year - probably to central Florida but if I can find gainful employment I will consider anywhere.

Current on Hawker, Lear, 340/330. Lapsed 747, 737, MD80. Any leads would be appreciated.
