Yep, it was an orchard decades ago. It was named ("Butch") O'Hare after a Navy fighter pilot who died in WW2. Amazing that a politician missed getting his name on it. It must have crushed some egos.

Is it strange that the new Denver Airport is NOT named after the former mayor, Federico Pena? Clinton had him removed from the DOT Secretary job very fast.

It was called 'Orchard Field' prior to being re-named O'Hare in the 1940's. I'll be there next week. Does anyone know if the shops will be open on 4th July. I have a long shopping list from Mrs Airclues.

Airclues,

Stores in the U.S. are generally open on July 4th but for limited hours. Noon to 4 or 5 pm is the most common.

Try and watch the fireworks.

Regards.
