Jobs at the freight airlines
hello everybody,
after some years back in Europe i'm ready to go back to America. I work as a 727 captain for a freight carrier and would love to return to Dallas or Miami. are there still company's who do direct entery command?? Thanks Neil |
Can't think of any that fly 727s. Great Lakes flys BE-1900s and hires direct entry captains, 'cause they're a lousy outfit, with lousy pay and can't keep enough copilots long enough to upgrade. Just about any outfit in the states that hires direct entry captains ain't worth working for. IMHO.

Try Amerijet in Miami.
|
You'll make alot more money and benefits, flying the right seat for a good company than you will flying Captain for a somebody like Amerijet.
|
My company, Mountain Air Cargo, hires direct entry Captains on the F27. Pay starts at $42,000. Unfortunately, none are based in FL. Furthest south base is currently Laffyette in Lousianna. Email me for details if interested.
|
After talking with several friends who work for Amerijet, I wouldn't count on them. They seem to be in financial difficulty. Express One and Kitty Hawk are always hiring. Try them.
|
Not freight, but Falcon Air Express in Miami hires DE Capt 727.
!!!!! outfit, pay does the Linda Lovelace and politics are supreme, but it is FAR 121 and a flag status carrier. |
I thought Kitty Hawk were in financial trouble too?
|
As far as I know, Kitty and Express got problems at the moment,
Miami Air hires DE cpt. for the 727. Base Miami, or within 1.5 hrs of MIA. Chief Pilot: Kurt Kamrad (305)871-1602 Good luck. seupp |
sorry that's the fax.
Here's the # (305)876-3650 seupp |
Thanks for all the information,
I will see or i can get anywhere with it. Neil |
On a slightly different note, anybody know anything about an outfit called Discover Air based in Orlando, FL? I think they're a charter passenger operation but I've never heard anything about them before.
|
Hmmmm....I hear there are some good paying jobs flying into Texas or Florida from south of the border. Mostly night work though. Not much job security either... :)
Haven't got any BE18 time by chance, do you ? [This message has been edited by Pelican (edited 05 April 2001).] |
"Good luck Mr Gorsky"...

Britavia,
Do you know if Mountain Air Cargo is interested in investing in a CPL-IR with 250h TT? I know it's not much, but given the chance, things may happen...! Thx, Vyking :) |
Vyking:
I doubt MAC would be interested, but you might try Express One (I think) based out of Charles De Gualle in Paris. They are the European FedEx feeder. I believe the aircraft are N regs but you do not need to be a US citizen to fly them. |
As for B-727/737 jobs, there is a brand new outfit here in Ft. Lauderdale called Planet Airways.
(I think that was the name, had their card right next to me on the desk, but now can't find it...Alzheimers...) ------------------ Men, this is no drill... |
