B190 Type ratings...
hello, just new to PPrune, does anyone know where in the USA one can get a 2-3 day type rating on the 1900 D? I have over 1000 hrs PIC on the aircraft, just wanted to get the rating on my US atpl. I also have the required TSA ID training approval, I just don't want to pay US $ 6500 for a 2 week total new type traing etc. I also have the Aussie atpl with the 1900 on it.

If you plan to work here you should set your heights higher than a 1900. Regionals are hiring low time CFI's into the right seat of RJ's. Pathetic really. I don't understand all the interest in type ratings. Your employer should be picking up the tab for those. |
Ditto what noflow has said. Besides, is it worth paying any amount of cash for a type rating on a type where starting pay is as low as $13,500/ yr?
This link may be of interest if your ego can be satisfied by just getting the SIC Type Rating on your US ATP. The best part is, it's free. http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=223382 |
