B747 recurrent
My present First Officer (a Jordanian national) has previously flown the B747 and wants to again regain currancy.
He is presently flying the Lockheed L1011, and is VERY experienced, having retired early from a large middle east airline. Any ideas about where he can obtain a B747 recurrent course/sim in the USA would be appreciated. He presently has an FAA license, but no jet type rating on same. |
Wild guess here 411A, but the old Braniff training school at DFW use to have a 74 sim and provided type ratings. Does the name of Dalfort ring any bells, that was name of the place when I got my training there.
They were bought by Flight Safety when FSI had the Boeing training contract, however, I understand that all of the FSI Boeing training centers have reverted back to Boeing. So I really don't know the status of Dalfort now. Hope that helps. |
The justice Department offers an abbreviated backgroung check for anybody that has experience on multicrew aircraft, but it could still take a while, most training providers could give you an idea of the times involved

I recently spoked to PANAM in MIA about transferring my 744 type to my FAA ATP and they want $11,000 for a short course + examiner's fee. I said " Hail NO". :}
