Lufthansa Cargo

Hello Everyone,

Does anyone have information about the selection process for Lufthansa Cargo (for ready entries)?

Does anyone know the terms and conditions to work for Lufthansa Cargo? Like roster, duty-regs, salary/expenses, routes and so on...

Appreciate any input!

So long,
Akro

Akro,

to qualify for a direct entry position with LH Cargo you have to meet the following requirements:

german ATPL + long range
1000hrs. Jet
max age 32 years + 364 days (to be raised to 38 years soon)
fluent in german and english
be authorized to live and work in germany
pass the 3 stage selection process held at DLR in Hamburg
These tests can only be done once!

If you have all of the above you are also qualified for Lufthansa (PAX) and Condor (Thomas Cook, Charter)

You would be hired onto the MD11 or 742 (LH Cargo), B757/767 (Condor), A320/B737 (LH Classic)

If you join LH classic you will be able to fly the A340/B744 later in your career.

Hard to get in but worth a shot.

Conditions are similar throughout the group (salary approx 60k Euros/ 1st year F/O, going up to 150k Euros for senior capotains regardless of fleet) These numbers are just ballpark figures. I stand to be corrected.

Cargo destinations: round the world!

Hope this helps!

Out of interest,

Does Lufthansa have many foreign pilots flying for them at the moment?

733driver,

Given that they all pay reasonably well, which would you choose? From a lifestyle perspective, which is the best? Is charter (Condor) in Germany as brutal as charter in the UK? Flying MD-11s long-haul is similar (without the FAs) to flying A340s long-haul...

Which would you choose and why?

Cheers

Thanks guys!

Is there some more information around about this DLR test. What do expect? How to prepare? Experiences?
