Overseas Allowances - what does your airline pay?
 

I work for a medium sized UK cargo turbo prop airline that is expanding into Europe.

I am interested in what other airlines pay their crew for nightstopping abroad.

To start things off....

£10 per night plus
£1 per hour starting/finishing at home base.
No meal allowance.

Channex-- flat rate £2.05/duty hour for all duties whether nightstop or not. Obviously if one is away for 24 hrs this equates to £49.50/day which does not go far at Scandinavian destinations!

Our outfit pays € 95.01 per day or fraction thereof for European destinations. Breakfast always included. Meals are also paid by the company if duty time falls within lunch/dinner periods.

Part of it subject to a tax deduction though.

From outbound departure checkin until ATA + 30 mins back at base, 1.57 per hour which is approx £38 per 24 hour period away.

Other payment varies by destination whilst down route - breakfast is always included. In some hotels if you do not take breakfast, an allowance can be banked and can be deducted from your bill at checkout.

Never ! Aircrew don't drink on night stops - do they ?!?!

They have to drink...to forget their EUR 21 meal allowance a day. It´s really that bl***y low!

PIA used to pay USD 6.15 per hr from Blocks off to Blocks on in Pakistan.Pretty healthy USD 147.6 per day + hotel inclusive of breakfast.Due to the military regime,and it's crackdown on civilian perks ,we are getting USD 5/- an hr.To make matters worse,the dollars' count starts from Blocks ON at foreign destination and stops at Blocks off when you depart for your home base.Therefore it is a considerable reduction in the number of total hrs counted as well as the rate itself.

BlueEagle - I have not a clue what you are driving at! If there happens to be other items, possibly of the beverage nature on such a bill, then I suppose, yes, any allowance would cover that expenditure! ;)

A twist with a variation
 

My company has an agreement to pay $80 usd per day while on duty away from home base, checkin is at 12:00 lcl arr. hotel 18:00 lcl dep 06:00 arr at base 08:30, here's the twist, we complete 3 or 4 sectors and return to base to arr HOME at 12:00lcl the 2nd day, Pilot group consider this 24 hrs away from home = full perdiem, company considers back at base next morning=half perdiem. What if any is the norm in this type of situation at YOUR company.

We get a full per diem (domestic or int'l) whenever our arrival at crew base is after midnight local (i.e. block time plus 30 min duty).

Domestic is € 62.51 and int'l is € 95.01. Meals are on the company while on duty.

My previous operator did however pay half per diems.
