Martinair

I just heard a rumor, Martinair signed for a new MD11?
Anybody out there knows this being true, do they need rated pilots, if yes, where to apply ( is dutch language a must?)

Push to talk 30th September 2002 21:53

What_goes_up, it's not a rumour, it is true. They get a former Swissair MD-11. It will be converted from pax to full freighter and Martinair will receive it around April next year. But the bad news is that Martinair has momentarily too many flight crews, and are probably not looking for new people for this extra MD-11, since they have plenty of crews for it. And Martinair is also planning to get rid of one of their 767's, this will leave even more spare crews. :(

No MD11 but 747 full freighter (ex-KLM). Furthermore ending lease of last 757 and one 767. New lease of either 2 737NG or A320.

pilot dude 24th October 2002 12:27

Hawker-rider 22nd March 2004 06:33

I came along this old post and i would like to see some more info about this operator.

What about start pay? Is that fairly competative for the equipment that they fly?

How does the salary climb up? Personally i would love an 11-7 schedule!!

Coastrider26 22nd March 2004 11:23

Martinair is a Dutch (Charter) operator they require a JAR Frozen ATPL and 500 hrs on types they fly I think but this was a couple of months ago.

Operating 767, MD11, 747 i think the 757 are gone by now.

Haven't been hiring for the last 2 year with exception of a couple of ex sabena guys that had lots of experience and typerated.

trainer too 2 22nd March 2004 20:41

Yep type rated on either A320 / 767 /MD 11 /747-200 is preffered

A/P Disc 22nd March 2004 21:29

They are hiring again but not in big numbers.
Fleet is slowly expanding.Martinair is seen as
number two in Holland after KLM regarding their
working conditions (not number two in size that's
Transavia).

Hawker-rider 23rd March 2004 04:19

OK,

well I'd still like to know what the starting salary is for some dutch airlines, like Martinair. I've heard recently that the Transavia new hires are not really making a decent living, and I was very surprised by some people's salary there.

I heard that KLM always paid very good, just wondering if somebody can give me some info on Martinair.

I'd appreciate it.

A300dude 23rd March 2004 20:01

hiring still going on. type not essential. hired some turboprop guys last year. starting salary depends on age is around €4000-4600 a month

767Europe 24th March 2004 07:11

At the moment they only hire typerated pilots.

It is a very good company to work for.

Min FO 4000 Euro
Max FO 10000 Euro (18yr)

Min Cpt 8000 Euro
Max Cpt 14000 Euro

All before tax excl. holiday allowance.
Also crewmeals paid by the company.
6 weeks holiday per year...

Very diverse and flexible way of operating. If they require more cargo capacity they convert pax aircraft or vice versa.

As one of the happy few they made a profit last year!

ebbr2 27th March 2004 08:49

Need to be able to speek Dutch fluently!

Just in case you don't!

46mph 29th March 2004 14:13

Quite some Aussies joined over the years. Still don't (can't/won't) speak dutch. 757 sold, 747 classics will be traded for -400's. Later on 767's for A330.

trainer too 2 30th March 2004 10:19

Aussies joined when the market was good (ie different requirements... :ouch: )

Later on 767's for A330
You know something the world and airbus don't know yet??:8
