European Cargo

Can anyone confirm the pay scales for European Cargo? Seen something on ppjn but is that up to date?
There's no application link on their website either. How do I apply?

No idea, but you could always drive down to Bournemouth and nip in to reception. Used to have dealings with them, years ago, I always felt they were happy to take the direct option.

Try [email protected] I believe a recent pay rise takes the F/O pay to about 80K and Captains to about £130 plus the usual per diems/pension/loss of licence/private medical etc..

Thanks 4engines.
I emailed then got a link for a form to complete. Any clues about the selection process?

Relaxed interview with a couple of recruitment pilots. Mainly just a chat with some minor technical stuff. That’s it, no sim.

First officer starting salary is £81900 rising to £85800 once the 4th aircraft begins flying (imminent). Plus per diems, pension, LOL, medical etc.

The China routes are very efficient hours wise. It’s a 3 day trip for 25 hours flying. You can only average 3 a month, maximum 4. So a busy month is 9-12 days away. That could change when the US and other routes start as more aircraft come online.

The contract is for 144 days off a year so should average out at 12 days a month. At present that isn’t quite being achieved, with reserve being used for flexibility due to a shortage in numbers, but this should ease in the next few months with continual recruitment.

Hi.

Would anyone like to share what life is like working for them? How much time do you have off between trips? Average monthly per diems? Typical number of standby’s or reserve per month?

Many thanks

the operation currently has 1 contract to China, with 1 operational aircraft ( 2 -1 AOG?), is that correct? How long after gaining employment are contracts offered?

4engines4longhaul 15th May 2024 14:40

There are actually 3 aircraft currently flying with the 4th due to start next month I believe, with a plan to have 6 or 7 flying by the end of the year. Recruitment is ongoing for the foreseeable future

They seem to be stopping off in VIE Vienna on the way home these days.

Stopping off in Vienna in order to carry more freight out of Hainan. It also creates an extra 2 sectors available for line training, which is a bit of a bottleneck at the moment

European Cargo Recruitment Process

Hi All,

Does anyone know if the recruitment process has been changed as at all to include a sim?

Any information on the interview and sim process is helpful.

Thanks in advance
Good luck!

Hi all,

Anyone had a call as a potential NTR FO? I was surprised that they dropped the Airbus TR requirement and chucked an application in plus filled the forms out they sent me but curious if they would realistically be looking at anyone without Airbus experience.

Cheers

Anyone know if this is commutable, I live in Manchester and wonder if the rosters are commute friendly?

Whispering Giant 27th September 2024 05:55

A friend of mine who is a loadmaster with European lives in Plymouth and commutes, and if you know the roads in Devon, Dorset - you’ll know it’s not an easy journey.

Yes it does now. A320 but that's all I know,

If anyone else knows more please let us know

4engines4longhaul 28th September 2024 10:42

Can you commute ? Of course you can as it is all long haul. The furthest commuter I believe is from Dubai

Is there a sim assessment ? Yep, a 30 min wiz around in a 320 at LGW and all standard stuff

I believe that the 4th aircraft just arrived back from heavy maintenance in JNB. The plan is still to have 7 flying by next summer, and recruitment very much ongoing.

People joining from a variety of backgrounds. EZY/VS/SAA/EK/RAF seem to be fertile recruitment grounds, but definitely a very mixed variety of back grounds.

Hi, do you work for them or have you had an assessment? I was told by an agency it's not a commuting position.

Cheers

MaxPower2011 29th September 2024 09:33

Most people do commute, trips are 3-5 days long with an average of 12 days off a month. At the moment there is very little standby and the company owns its own hotel that is available pre and post duty at a very reasonable rate.
