I'm going through the vetting process at the moment. They have started it, but won't request references from your current employer until 28 days before your start date.

Waiting times...
Hi all, I got the hold pool entry call on the 19th of April. So about 5 weeks in and not heard anything other than the "Business update" email.
Anyone recently been through the hold pool? How long was your wait and did you make any contact with Jet2 whilst waiting? Any advice greatly received. |

Airlines need to ensure that referencing is within the required dates for airside ID's to be issued. That is all the 28 days is about surely. If you are concerned about referencing pick up the phone and just talk to them. There are many ways around any issues you could experience, including tax statements and payslips should anyone experience issues.

Any truth that you are scored on how well you do in the assessment and that determines your position in the hold pool and that if candidates are assessed after you and score better they jump ahead of you? (Not complaining at the method)
2 guys at my current airline (same experience, same fleet, same base requests) were both assessed 3 weeks apart and the chap interviewed later received a start date after 6 weeks and the other is still waiting 3 months later |

Interview and Sim Oct & Nov. Offer in Dec for start in March but clashed with leave and a holiday. Accepted a Nov start.

Anyone know how long we have to wait to reapply after failing the sim?
Cheers |
12 Months from the Sim date. :ok:

Any estimates when the Airbus will start to arrive into Stansted or Bournemouth?

STN 2026. BOH not open until 2025, but no info so far for the bus. |
Is there any plan or timeframe for Airbus to be based in Belfast?
|
Yep!

Been waiting since February, also no communication other than the generic business updates. Any attempt at communication is met with no reply.
Out of interest, what base and fleet had you requested? I'm wondering if this has some sort of bearing..... I've also attempted several emails and a couple of linkedin messages but had absolutely no response. Does anyone have a number I could call? Or any further advice.... |

That's worrying to hear. I know people that have only waited a month and a half in the pool but there seems to be no logic as to why they get a shorter wait...

I asked for Bhx/Man/Edi in that order, preference is the Airbus but think that was obvious to them by my base choices! Some people have suggested calling them and sent me various numbers but that just seems a bit too forward for me. |

Yeah, I’m similar. Entered the hold pool at the end of January and have only received the generic update emails since. Couple of emails sent to recruitment but no answer. My portal does still say awaiting update, but having had no communication at all is frustrating especially when other candidates have been offered start dates since then.
Only generic emails received from Jet2 every few months. J2 careers site application now says “Under Review”. Had suggestions to contact them, but from profusely checking this forum daily it seems others have had no luck with responses! Also don’t want to seem too forward and ‘annoying’ to them, might be me overthinking it. Fortunate to have had some positive assessments with competitors, but J2 is definitely priority of all of them. I trigger-refresh this forum far too often hoping some have good news on their hiring plans for NTR FO’s for ‘24. |
In my personal experience, the recruiters are friendly and receptive to professional interaction, so if you have relevant contact details, why not use them? We like to think airline recruitment processes are efficient, but sometimes it can be quite the opposite, and it’s easy for good, qualified Pilots to get missed/fall through the cracks. So don’t leave it to chance. If you already know someone in Jet 2 and/or have someone who sponsored your application, see if they can chase up for you, that worked for me!
Regarding the base choice. Jet2 will try their best endeavours to put everyone in their base of choice asap, and certainly one from the three choices that you give. The base transfer policy is very transparent once you join. If Airbus fleet/base is what you’ve requested, that may be a reason for delay, purely due to lack of aircraft, trainers meaning lack of available training sectors. Without being too cheesy, one of our company values is ‘Take responsibility’, so why not give them a call or email? Nothing to lose IMHO. |

I interviewed and simmed Nov 23, got an offer May and starting in Nov 24 for BHX Airbus DEC
I didn’t chase them during any of it, but I got the generic hold pool emails then a call for a course last month. I understand Airbus deliveries got delayed by Airbus from 2 per month from Jan 24 to just 2 for the year, but that is due to ramp up from next year to 2-3 aircraft per month from Jan 25, so expect the hold pool for the Airbus to start moving fairly soon I’d suggest. My experience in calling the recruitment dept has been very positive. I always left a friendly voicemail and gave times that l’d be available for a call back. They’ve been professional, open, honest and friendly, which is a total opposite from my current employer, so a good start so far! |
what bases are being offered for those interviewing now. I turned down a northern base in the hope that something southerly will open up. Understand STN from 2026.
