Hi there fellow aviator’s I’ve been offered a contract with Avion Express as DEC A320 OCC planned for mid February.
I am so confused now having read through all the tread regarding the company as a whole. Is there anyone actually working in Avion at present who is Willing to PM me so I can discuss with them what’s it actually like working in Avion of course I understand every company has its pros and cons but it can’t be all bad right? If that is cool for you then you can go for it. I enjoyed my time there. I left when I became a guest back home and the taxman wanted to have a chat with me. |
Indeed they do that, just fired my son by email with no reason And permanece contract

Stay away fellow pilots, dont believe their promises. They advertise permanent contracts and basic salary but is not true. They can terminate contracts at any time because in a paragraph of the contract the so called "FORCE MAJEURE" is implemented. They use pilots for the summer season and during the winter they revert to any pay scheme they want which is going to be PBH(per block hour) as usual. They will use you for the summer season and abandon you as they did to hundreds of pilots.

I am so sad for you guys, always complaining, always being that frustrated...
I joined 3 months ago ans you know what ?? I love it. Proper training, high basic salary (so who cares about the 400-600 hrs)... This month I made 11'000 after tax... yesss AE paid for socal security and pension, i paid the taxes in my country. And you know what, I spent 14 days home, with my family... So please guys, go fishing, relax and enjoy your life that is that much better than mine ! I flew for one renowned Airline in Switzerland and i can tell you, the package (what I was looking for) was a lot worse. wish you all a great summer☀️ be happy and positive |

The F**k around and find out era, has finally come. Avion has asked from all of it’s flight personnel to sign a new contract with new terms and conditions. All flight personnel would be registered in Malta, as directly employed by Avion, but they will pay taxes to their permanent residence. With their names. No company schemes, no service providers etc. Sweet. And this time the “German Colonel” who used to call flight crews and threatened them to work beyond FTL or they will be fired can’t do the same thing, because only 4 pilots (last Friday update) have signed the new contract. The only people who are expected to sign, are the so called “hostages”. Aka newly appointed commanders or FO’s who still don’t have the experience to find a new job. Company forced to do it, after immense pressure from its biggest German Client.

Finally, all those bottom-feeder criminal scam outifts are going down.

40 K MAX for FO
With the present low Gross salaries provided taking into account that taxes and social security are to be finally paid .... then its about 38-40 K NET or less for FOs and around 67-70 K NET or less...for Captains.
With your monthly routine life locked in an airport hotel ...flying 4 sectors on behalf of Eurowings... does not worth the money... ! If you are not a low timer, currently upgraded to a Captain, or it happens to you have a clean accident / incident record... take other options ASAP !! Instead of the company pays for its employees and beeing responsible for them in order to provide a normal net salary...Avion shifted all the finacial responsibilities to its employees... If you are keen to work in the "adult industry" at least get paid...! Why to search for a P..I..M..P ? |

So basically people are pissed because they have to start to pay taxes? Terrible
Basically no. The contract has very questional clauses that the people working there cant are leggaly not allowed to be shared so thats all that can be said. Most people there are also not native english speakers and the contract is written in very complicated lawyer language. If you are a new pilot coming in and get this contract offered I would be very careful. Not because the taxes part I personally think thats the only good thing because at least you dont have to do complicated processes in order to be a "legal" worker and you are somewhat protected as an employee. Some clauses basically lock you into the company. All I can say if you are interested get a lawyer to look at it, its worth it. Most of the pilots in this company are unhapy, you come to work and hear pilots, cabin crew and engineers complaining.... you will start seeing your familly less and less frequently and your friends at home will be even worse because with only 8 days at home you will really need to choose who in your life you will give that time to. Soon youll only really have contact with people in the company which mostly have a negative outlook because every now and then the company will change something for the worse being roster travel policy etc and you cant do anything about it because alot of the things like the travel policy is a company document and all you signed in the contract is you accept the travel policy and its future changes.... so basicaly they can change things without your agreement. Anyways each to their own all Ill say is that everyone should do deep research in any job or any company, no company us perfect and this may be a good choice for some people just make sure you are aware of the good and the bad no matter where you go. |
How is the situation in the company currently? Are pilots choosing to stay or leave?

Avoid the TR cadet program with BAA!!
I wanted to join Avion Express as a cadet pilot through BAA TR cadet program
After passing a 3-steps selection screening with AE (online psychometric test, online technical and HR interview and simulator assessment) - which cost me the amazing amount of 800€ - and having successfully completed the type rating on A320 with Avion Express program, I was contacted (1 month after I passed the Skill test) by Baa sales manager because Avion Express was no longer interested in my profile due to my performance during type rating. It turned out that there were some hidden clauses on BAA’s contract regarding the evaluation of the last 4 SIM session before the LST, requirements whose I was not aware about. It ended up they left me without a job with type rating on A320 with 0 hours- at least they refund me part of the cost of type rating (10000€). - be aware of what BAA let you sign off if you are considering to join whatever program of them; they are only in the business of sales as their only purpose is selling as much courses as possible hope I can save many people from what I had to go through |
Usually I don't defend them. But didn't you had a conditional letter of intent with the conditions clearly stated ?
Because it was the case two years ago (and the required marks during the four last sessions where clearly indicated) |

Aviation wise, probably just need to wait until the next hiring frenzy. I can see that coming after the UA war and once the US-CN transpacific market is unlocked again (currently still around 25% of pre-COVID traffic). |

A very level-headed post with a great selection of the message. With proper tutoring, anyone capable of writing this coherently is well capable of progressing into the airplane stage. There is a risk the present-day TR breeding mills don't really have the resources for it.
