CA and FO Salary
 

Does anybody know the current CA and FO salaries as of today. Also what can a CA and FO expect in per diems every month on top of their salary?

I too Would also like to know what the current take home pay is for captain and fo's both on union and commuter contracts.

Approximately €3500 gross for FO (contract) and €50 per diem

DEC A330: The salary will be dependent upon your experience and total flying hours. Base monthly salary will range from €5,880 - €9,6500. You will earn 60EUR per day whilst in Iceland and an additional 60EUR per day of flying. You will commute on the first and last day of your 20-day rotation so the full 10 days will be spent at home.

Days off can be sold (pay rate will vary depending upon experience)

Anecdotally, My understanding is that for around 5000 hours Airbus command you will be offered a salary of €7500/month. How many hours/experience you need to get €9600 / month isn't stated.


For DEC not based Iceland, commuting tax will be deducted from whichever country you are going to live in (Ireland, UK, Denmark and Germany options at present) by The agency or non commuting tax will be deducted by WOW in Iceland.

I have to laugh at how terrible the TnCs are even before you remove tax. Makes NLH the new high payer in lo co long haul. Tragic.

Think it twice if the job is offered to you by Eonis,

-SS payment will be deducted from your salary, 4%, approximately 300€ will go to into his pocket.
Paid nowhere, but deducted from you, how legal is this ? You tell me.

-Your contract will be signed only by you, which makes you an illegal worker.

-There aren't payslips, as most probably time to time, if not every month, some of your salary will be missing, per diems or overtime. You will not be able to find where the error is.

-You wil be on your own, the company will be on his side in any conflict that my arise,.. " you should contact your agency..."

Do some research before choosing your agency.

Icemen are at it again. Can't believe a skipper will work his arse for 10k gross and no pension or any real benefits but I'm guessing there is no union in Wow. It seems if you want to make a career as a pilot in Europe nowadays you can forget it. I think I'll stick with 3rd world :mad: as they pay more and you can have a blast over there for pennies on your work days and come home with all your cash still in your pocket. Goodbye Euro LOCO never again! I even got a foreign ICAO license so I never have to give EASA a penny again for their overpriced ever expiring ratings and services. Enjoy waking up in some dump at 0430am on a cold Icelandic winter morning for a day of snowstorms, de-icing and max crosswind landings with a 500 hour hero siting next to you. Oh and Good luck getting a go on the A330. We've heard that one before haven't we and if by some miracle you are lucky enough enjoy no pay again during the CCQ. FR in the freezing snow!

A bit of a one sided comment that one...

My 2 cents: a very good gig, but only on the LOCAL contract. The best t&c-s amongst the locos in Europe at the moment (except for ezy swiss of course...). And yes, it includes pension, medical, insurance, a liveable roster, plenty of paid holidays and a union who are actually doing a pretty decent job, imho.

Not in a million years i would join on one of the agency contracts, but having moved here and being actually employed, taxed locally, etc. was one of the best decisions i have ever made.

Hello. Don't really utilise this so much so please forgive my ignorance. I'd like to have a serious conversation with your reasoned thoughts on this one aside from the dark keyboard warriors

The local contract basic salary is still poor by industry standards and KEF is not a cheap place to live. Pity really - they seem like a reasonable outfit but they don't want to pay the money. Parc contract claims that you can get up to 9.5k basic if you're experienced. Those I know that have been through selection say you need to be a 320 test pilot, having retired from the NASA shuttle program to get anywhere near that. Those with 15 years on the bus currently being offered in the region of 7.5k gross.

I hven been offered 9.4k gross, but then I didn't go for the interview because at the end the 20/10 is too long time away from home. I am 320/330.

Gross basic Salary € 7,305
Block hour pay 75 + € 150
Per diem basic €60 x 20 days total € 1,200
Per diem - additional for each flight duty day € 60 x 15 actual flying days €900
Expected Month Salary € 9,405

After tax in the UK or Ireland that equates to approx £5200pm with no pension.Not a disaster but surely not enough to persuade anyone who already has a reasonable job to spend 20 days a month in Iceland.

,I left wow 4 months ago. Living conditions absolutely :mad:. They promised you the world but they never delivered empty promises. Feel you are living in an open prison. They render absolutely zero SOP in their flights. Everybody does whatever they want and actually nobody cares. Very unprofessional cabin-crews with zero experience.

Are there any photos of the accommodation available please?

I asked the same question to the agencies recruiting for WOW and there aren't any photos. Easy to make some photos but the reason why there aren't any, you will see if you join...

Through which agencies are they recruiting? The only one I know is parc aviation

Ok, what about a brief description. Facilities inside, nearby, maid service?(kidding), laundry etc

Brief description. Old NATO buildings. Everything old and everything need an overhaul but all very slow. Nothing to do up there and you will be miserable on your 20 days up there. You'll be stuck in your room, which is a one room with a toilet. You sit and eat in the bed that you sleep in. Before and after your flight you'll be in your room and just counting down until your next 10 off days. Even on overnights in the US you now have CBT and prepare for sim.
