There is a china tax calculator on the internets. Anyone knows anything by now regarding T&C's? Pension, LoL, Healthcare, Perdiems, etc..

The Crew 28th June 2016 17:42

A sucessful candidate will be required to obtain a full Chinese CAAC issued licence A full CAAC initial medical will also be undertaken , and then be renewed on a yearly basis. ( this is the tricky part ditto lottery)

speedcaptain 17th July 2016 13:55

Cargolux China NET payment....

Hey Guys,
I've just got to see a calculation which was provided by Cargolux.
They assume after tax paid in China as a TR 747 Capt you should get around 10500 EUR net...
Not that much juicy.

uchy 22nd July 2016 14:45

Any idea how much is the net salary for a first officer?

Kim Jong Il 16th August 2016 13:21

You will apparently first receive a temporary contract for two years with CLX. Anyone has any info how this contract looks like or did anyone got one offered already?

What will happen after the 2 years if the China operation doesn't commence?

negativeclimb 16th August 2016 16:34

Really? I was thinking of a permanent one. Is it a rumor or you know it for sure?

Kim Jong Il 17th August 2016 20:28

definately a temp contract. 2 years is what I heard.

final06 18th August 2016 13:51

Postponed til the end of 2017.
Any more questions?

highfive 19th August 2016 03:55

I got an email saying that rated crew will be offered Lux bases for a max of 2 years until china starts .

Sam Ting Wong 19th August 2016 05:01

The number of successful cargo joint-ventures in China remains at zero...

Kim Jong Il 12th September 2016 13:55

What are the latest expectations on the Chinese operations? Any news in the last month?

trancada 13th September 2016 17:23

Seems it is going slowly .
I heard that some aircraft from Cargolux Italia returned to Luxembourg. Does anyone know?

screening in LUX on 15th and 16th december anyone? what to expect?

SONNY731 15th November 2016 17:35

An offer of a job in 2018 and in the meantime a temporary contract with CargoLux on very different terms and conditions!!

mansaloco 17th November 2016 07:42

And if you make it in and spend 2 years in Main Cargolux.....
a very sour atmosphere in the cockpit as you will be taking the position of a 12 years, very experienced f/o ready for upgrade
You have been warned......
Go prostitute yourself somewhere else

Arewerunning 17th November 2016 08:54

Prostitute?

Mh...very nice. If you do not want DEC then you should fight against it with company. I guess you do not have the will.

Try to do that in AF/KLM or LH/LX...

Rant over

JaxofMarlow 17th November 2016 09:34

I would say mansaloco that you are far from ready for an upgrade.

Jerry Scribbler 17th November 2016 12:12

I'm looking at it too. I've been invited to take the Mollymawk Test so far. To be quite honest though, the package is awful. If Cargolux are going to get quality people into China, they're going to have to pay what the Chinese airlines are paying.

Up to the sky 29th November 2016 10:57

I've been invited to take the Mollymawk Test the 2 December ,anyone is in ? Somebody already did it? if you have any advise :-)

safelife 29th November 2016 12:40

Zhengzhou is a crappy place, smogged very most of the time.
And the Cargolux China thing is far from going ahead.
I wouldn't put my bet on it realizing.

highfive 30th November 2016 22:31

Cargolux China has stalled due to the immense bureaucracy and complexity of starting business in China.

Yes they are still going through the motions, but they've already being doung this with the DLR.

Not enough suitable pilots found already?

Nothing firm re TnCs, all smoke and mirrors.

My bet as stated 12 months ago, is it will never happen as perceived.

safelife 1st December 2016 06:02

Ok, some update from inside. Project on hold due to regulations, CX was planning to hold 30% share but allowed only 20%, will come up with an investor for the missing ten.
Crews for the first five aircraft assessed, some of them (maybe only FOs) will fly in Luxemburg until things materialize.

16down2togo 3rd December 2016 15:25

If your info is really from the inside you should know that CX is Cathay Pacific
and not Cargolux.

What kind of experience are they looking for?

final06 9th January 2017 22:36

2019 ?

Despite comments from our CEO that the Cargolux China project is put on ice, it seems that the responsible persons are still active in a way.

However since the shareholder problem is still unsolved they have not even applied for an AOC yet.

So my optimistic guess is 2019.

T&Cs are still nonexistent. There are far better gigs available nowadays for qualified captains.

Our own F/Os are also not too interested in potential CV China command upgrade opportunities.

italian stallion 27th January 2017 07:09

So, after having submitted my application to them about 6 months ago, i get a reply....a big fat "sorry your application was not successful" :D

safelife 27th January 2017 10:27

September 2018 is the latest estimate to get going.

final06 27th January 2017 18:53

:= Don't get confused:
September 2018 is the estimate for
Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg
„Willy Brandt“

ExDubai 27th January 2017 22:25

Hmm..... I'd bet on Cargolux, not on BER.

Space Viking 6th April 2018 11:50

Anyone been to interview with Cargolux China? Are they still starting operation late 2018?

final06 8th April 2018 07:50

From a chinese point of view:
Do you see any good reason to start a cargo operation while a trade war between China and the USofIgnorance is developing at full speed?

Space Viking 8th April 2018 08:13

Thanks for the opinion ‘final’, not really my question though.
Anyone else..?

The Chinese will as always, be playing the Long game. A trade war will not last long.

final06 8th April 2018 12:59

You have to read my comment in the context of the "development" of this project up to now.
This might be just another hurdle among many others.
No CV JV flight will happen any time soon.
