45% is the top rate - which you will reach.

negativeclimb 1st May 2016 11:45

Wowww it's way too much!!! Even as FO ranking of a gross salary at around 8400€? It's really strange because I was expecting that being pie in eur the taxes have to be paid in euroland which in some countries the taxes are way too low than this 45%...

safelife 1st May 2016 14:46

Well with that salary you maybe get away with 35%.
But you should pay tax only once, there or here. Most countries have treaties on double taxation with China.

fly4more 3rd May 2016 00:08

History for joint ventures in China has not been sucessful so far .
Jade Cargo , Lufthansa - Shenzen Airlines , now defunct
Great Wall Cargo - Singapore Airlines and China Eastern , now defunct
Cathat Pacific - Air China joint venture , now consolidated to another group.

I'm guessing it will be well into 2017 before the regulatory hurdles are circumvented by Cargolux.

If you must work for a Chinese carrier , who require you to keep a CAAC medical , stick to the established expat employers, who pay your China tax. Who would work in China and pay their own China tax when so many pay it for you?

negativeclimb 3rd May 2016 01:53

Everything must be clarified, here there are only suppositions but no one knows the details of the contract.
Cargolux is a powerful company, they well know their business and how to do it and I guess in case something goes wrong at least the European pilots could be considered saved and absorbed in the mainline.
Also this story of the Chinese taxes is not clear because of you are paid in euros probably in an Europea bank account how you should pay the Chinese taxes?
The contract is commuting, seems that duty starts and ends in lux.

So here we are just guessing, now please is there someone who already passed the dlr and is going or went to the second stage?
One its me, going for the interview. Any tips?

Kim Jong Il 3rd May 2016 12:51

Chinese Tax Calculators you can find on the internet assuming they are correct and assuming taxable in the PRC.
What about secondary benefits like daily allowances / LoL / Health Insurance / company pension schemes / etc?

negativeclimb 4th May 2016 11:56

Is anybody else who passed the first stage and is heading towards the interview or already had the assessment in LUX or here there are only trolls who don't even know where LUX is?

highfive 5th May 2016 02:42

By first stage do you mean sending in your CV and being sent the standard assessment invite?
If thats the case PM me as I'm at that stage,

Have you received the DLR info? For an experienced captain I'm sure there are better ways of finding suitable candidates rather than than asking , for example, what causes weather or what the eustachian tube does? Their train set I guess.

Seems they are going to build up a pool of acceptable pilots to commence in 2017. Will they then do the CAAC medical for candidates, who knows. Will there be Chinese trainers, as they are presumably be operating with a Chinese AOC?

NEDude 8th May 2016 06:24

The elephant in the room is ability to pass AND maintain the CAAC medical.
Good luck with this, unless you are a current astronaut.
Very much not true. One of the guys at my airline is clinically classified as morbidly obese and still has a CAAC medical. We have guys who have had heart attacks in the past. We have guys who have had LASIK. The medical exam is extensive, but for the most part not unreasonable. At times they may be a bit goofy over some small things, but it is not too hard to get through for most people. Put it this way, if I can pass the CAAC medical, most people can.

fatbus 9th May 2016 16:33

Some people are looking for excuses not to apply. Medicals do vary from region to region. But not unlike airforce med

negativeclimb 9th May 2016 21:22

That's absolutely true, people blames the company just because are scared to afford the dlr or because the big belly. I work with Chinese too, there are with me some "jelly" Venezuelan guys but until now they pass their medical (even with some comments and suggestions from that dept).

Hi, i had to change for July (second week) still in a waiting list!
I was offered June the 2nd
I have heard that DLR CBT is ok for training...
Do you know what about SIM?

littlejet 1st June 2016 20:33

Got the "you are on the waiting list" response. LHS
Does anyone know what kind of working contract is on offer?
Direct employment or broker? EU or Chinese? Permanent or limited?

SONNY731 2nd June 2016 17:19

Anyone got past the testing at DLR?? I assume sim ride, interview and medical next?? Any info on what is on offer?? They certainly seem to be keeping their cards close to their chest.

In respect of DLR - practice, practice and practice. :}

Waiting list for assessment in DLR.
Was not possible for me to assist on June.
I think is a Permanent Direct contract.

highfive 3rd June 2016 02:17

The whole operation is still work in progress I believe. Nothing is concrete. If the Chinese are involved, expect extrapolated negotiations, even after everything seems agreed. This is the Chinese way.
There will be one slot avail in Aug, 'cos after looking at the DLR assesment required for DEC, im staying put in my present position .
Too bloody old for all this nonsense!

negativeclimb 3rd June 2016 10:27

for those who already passed the dlr, which is the hardest part, there are 3 slots for interview and sim; the second, third week of june and the first of july.....
