Easyjet Pay
I have seen quite a few comments from Easy f/os quoting take home pay of £2700-2800 a month. I am struggling (as usual!) to work out with even a large amount of sectors the difference between the basic pay and take home pay. Could someone please explain?

Probably all too busy to reply.

Thanks Engee, but I still do not understand. If your basic is approx 2100 per month (as SFO) and that 420 sectors per year gives you approx £400 per month (assuming 40% tax on 70% of allowances) I cannot get near £2700-2800. Perhaps I have been given the wrong info ref tax on allowances?!
|
Don't know how u are working out your figures but when I was SFO over a year ago now:
Over 7 month period average take home was £2858 Lowest was £2626 Best was £3320 Life much more comfy in the LHS ! |
How many hours or years in the company do you have to fly to become SFO instead of FO?
|
You need a full ATPL. thats it.
The extra is allowances for uniforms, nightstops and medical. |
Thanks for the replies!

Just a quick question.
Does a £350 per month company contribution, buy much of a pension with Scottish Equitable for a Captain? (Or £215 per month for an SFO?) I know there are many variables, but can anyone guess the maths for say 20 years of service? |
Nobody prepared to have a stab then?
Oh well, and you Easy people always seem so keen to tell us 'mere mortals' how much you take home. Roll on retirement at 85, eh! |
Hang on for a few more days Tandem Rotor! I've just sent all my pension stuff off to BALPA IFA's to take a look at.
They're going to tell me whether & how to save more!!  |
I genuinely wish you good luck Scottie.
The point I am trying to make is this: (and to be fair, Easy probably aren't the best example) There seems to be ever growing numbers of pilots taking enormous glee in saying something along the lines of; "we're cheaper than you, which means we deserve all your routes, and you just deserve to be out of a job." Surely we should all be trying to push EVERYONE'S remuneration PACKAGE up! Not encouraging this 'Dutch Auction' mentality. Everyone can be undercut, if we allow it. |
Tandemrotor,
I don't think it's too many pilots who are saying things like that!!!!!! |
kriss kross -
You should read a few more threads mate! Still nobody prepared to hazard a guess? |
Sorry, too busy working to get my outrageous pay!!!

Why don't you just ring Scottish Equitable and ask? Their answer will have a little more credibility than anything else posted here. |
According to the Saturday Telegraph, £350 a month would buy a pension the equivalent of, a lot less than, £10,000 per annum in 20 years time. (£192 per week before tax!)
Hope we don't all get such a 'generous' package! We should all be trying to ENSURE we don't! Because this kind of thing just might be what makes some pilots seem more expensive than others! Get my drift? So krisskross, I hope you are spending outrageous amounts of your 'outrageous pay' on additional volountary contributions! If you're lucky, you'll be retired a very long time! |
I'm lucky, Her Majesty is contributing to my retirement plans!!!!
|
Any staff travel deals for easyJet?
