Come back to me in 5 years & I can answer your 2 concerns  for now (like the rest of us ) you pays your money & takes your chances.

In spite of "certain uncertainties", I think your sideways move is nonetheless upwards too. :ok:

Takehome pay, and staff travel

Just left the "harp" as well, and waiting to join NAS. As many other people, I am keen on a LGW base. Does anybody know the Net pay for the UK based FO's?

And in addition; Do the staff have any staff travel discounts on the Gatwick express?

hiring

how are people getting interviews with NAS, I have applied and updated but it keeps kicking me out and telling me I fit the requirements for engineering, technical etc.,
are they processing or going through agencies?

I know a few FOs in LGW. Take home varies but expect between 3600 to 4000 Sterling net.

Pay

Thanks for the info! Sounds all right to me. Anybody with info on the Gatwick express? Does not seem to be any info on their website!

Roscoe,
Seems you have to get in the queue along with all the guys 'n' gals wanting out of another blue and yellow LoCo - this straight from the horses mouth and currently more candidates than seats.

clearly Ryanair are responding to falling profits by repositioning themselves in the market, it won't be easy to make that change, simply cutting the boarding card re issue fee from €70 to €15 and lower bags fee's won't do it, lower bags fee's means more weight and more fuel and handling costs.

IMHO it will need MOL to go and a new softer face from outside, preferably female after all the chauvinistic attitude from his nibs

So i think your safe to jump on the Red nose band wagon 99% of people are glad they made the move, but its not a slam dunk for rated guys either, you'll need to work hard during training and an increasing number have failed of late, both during sim training and line training, having said that the Ryanair guys find the transition easy enough because of the quality of training they paid for at Ryanair

Welcome to norwegian

Any more FO recruitment planned for next year at all? Every time I have spoken to them the FO recruitment seems to be on a back burner.

RumAndCoke 5th December 2013 19:58

Captplaystation, please can you tell me if there is any rumor about new bases to open in Europe in the near future? Thanks
:confused::confused:

737 Jockey 5th December 2013 20:21

What sort of rumour would you like?

So far the rumours have come to fruition... BCN & MAD.

FCO and SXF are the ones I've heard.

:ok:

captplaystation 6th December 2013 13:44

Like he said, the 1st company I have been in where "rumours" usually become fact.

nrn 6th December 2013 16:22

what about Amsterdam? Or Köln

OSDELATROPO 8th December 2013 09:57

Are there any rumours about french bases?
thanks

captplaystation 8th December 2013 12:20

There was a nice Nice rumour briefly, and a French guy living in Paris mentioned he had heard Orly, a bit like the guy living in Manchester that is hoping he can give that rumour wings.

With so many aircraft on order anything is possible, but the current persistent rumour is Roma, with Berlin having gone a bit quiet.

Have also heard Palma & Vienna mentioned. . . . . but nothing like as frequently as BCN/MAD was in the past.

DEC selection process?

Hi,

I have looked through this thread and have found very little information regarding the NAS assessments for DEC. My apologies if I have missed it but I would very much appreciate it if anyone can give any information on the following.

Aptitude and/or psychometric tests. Matrigma tests. - is there any involved?

Interview - how is it conducted?

Sim check - what does this involve?

Thank you!

737 Jockey 9th December 2013 11:46

Kazak - suggest you 'search' again. All the info is there... :ugh:

Kazak 10th December 2013 12:26

737 Jockey.

I see you have had to bang your head against a wall before when others have asked the same question.

As I said I have checked the thread and there is very little information regarding the assessment.

There is lots of information regarding unions, bases, contracts, days off, pay etc etc. However, all that can be gathered about the selection process is that there are online assessments, a relaxed interview and a sim check.

Thanks anyway!

captplaystation 10th December 2013 13:46

Post # 112 (Page 6) & a little more on this thread, nothing much else to tell, unless they radically changed the format.
