Garuda Indonesia.
Hi,
I just saw an advertisement for garuda Idonesia recruiting "experienced pilots" , does anyone know if this is open to ex-pats as it says on Pilot career centre they do not recruit expats , also I registered on Garuda website and there is no where to upload a CV enter how many hours you have etc , quite strange. |
Don't know about direct hiring by the airline but Rishworth's got loads of guys flying for Garuda on the B737 and CRJ, they've had that contract for a number of years now I believe
|
Garuda Indonesia.
Does anyone know about the roster at Garuda. If you get a contract on the CRJ, will it be six days on one day off?
|
Had 5 or 6 friends flying there on the 737, no expat contract was renewed after the end of the 1st year. I don't think they will start again hiring expats but, who knows!
They weren't unhappy there although the culture and city (Jakarta) were a bit difficult to get used. Male FOs were specially happy :O Females well treated too. :ok: Good luck guys PS: don't know the CRJ but 737 guys were flying like crazy (100-105 hours a month). No commuting, they were coming back to Europe 2 or 3 times a year using some leave days. They received tickets from Jakarta to Amsterdam with Garuda (not sure if in business or tourist class) then they bought their one ticket connections to wherever in Europe they were flying to. |
I tried to apply as well but was getting frustrated with the requirements of the uploaded documents (needed to be only jpeg file and im not a it guy) + you need to submit a reference letter. In the end, i simply gave up.
|
^^ stick is this on the Garuda website??? I did not come across a requirement to upload documents...? Hence I have not been able to say how many hours I have etc etc
|
Garuda has opened again to expats.
They fired all of them 1 year ago cause Captains earning less salary than expat FO's. But somehow they fixed a new agreement a couple months back. I hear expat voices on Garuda planes regularly on ATC over Indonesian airspace now. |
Just spent ages filling out the online form with its infuriating irrelevant error messages to later have all my information lost when I clicked on save at the end..
I just  give up with this industry..I think I have been beat! :ugh: |
I know TURKISh the same happened to me last night after converting everything to JPEG and resizing every document to below 1meg I lost the lot because of a miss click ended up throwing a glass across the room and breaking it ha , started again and got it in allthough , 2 files license and medical I could not re size and had to just insert my passport instead , I was suprised I had all the right documents.
|
Boeing europe, you ve managed to submit your application? I had the same as turkish777, everything was lost by saving at the end. Did you also submit a reference letter?
|
Great, finally it also worked out for me. Let's cross the fingers.
|
Yeah stick managed to submit everything including referance letter , make sure your files are JPEG and are now bigger than 1MB it will reject anything not JPEG and over 1MB and u will loose all date I learned this the hard way a couple of time.
|
Lol Boeing Europe...I was using my girlfriends laptop otherwise mine may have been in several pieces...Sometimes it makes you wonder if this is part of the screening process!!
Well I see Garuda are using Rishworth for CRJ recruitment..FO's : 1000 Jet 500 on type, not the requirements I was hoping to see..And the Asian Academy is trying to jump on the band wagon again.. |
Expat FO
I'm 10 years in - now an FO with a major UK airline - I not advise anyone to go overseas to a developing country as an FO - go as Captain only.. Chances are the CRM will make you cringe and you have very little chance of an upgrade. Outfits like Emirates and Etihad are not included in that... I'm talking more about the likes of Garuda, Korean, Air Mauritius etc..
|
Hey guys,
I heared that Garuda is screening for first officers. Do they hite pilots which do carry a non-indonesian license? Is it for indonesian only? |
For what fleet are they recruiting 737 FO???
|
Garuda are hiring.
To everyone interested, Garuda does still hire expats. Apart from the CRJ guys that are still with Rishworth, everyone will be on local terms. I know of a couple of 737 guys who joined but were put onto the 73 classic. The locals don't want to fly the 73 classic or the CRJ. Apparently they aren't prestigious enough. Local pay by foreign standards is terrible. That said for the locals $2500 USD a month is plenty to live on. Thats for the 73, I'm sure local terms on the ATR or CRJ would be lower for FO's. Lastly, you MUST HAVE 250 HOURS ON TYPE and over 1000TT to apply. No ifs buts or exceptions. |
And how do you apply?
|
|
Hello,
Any guys hired on ATR lately? I would have some questions. |
