Hainan Airlines screening

Hi, I am scheduled for a SIM screening and medical check with HNA in the middle of next month. Has anyone been through the same and could let me know as to how to go about it and any helpful hints. Thanks

Been a while since I worked for Hainan. However, my experience was very pleasurable. Management was great to work for and the Chinese FO's were very respectful.

Working for a Chinese Airline can be challenging. Best time I ever had.

So you worked at Hainan then Shenzhen Airlines?
You wrote about Shenzhen Airlines:

Are they really enforcing a punishment program contrary to ICAO standards? Is QAR still being used against pilots contrary to ICAO standards? Do FO's fly the airplane based on QAR data that they know to be analyzed?

Does Shenzhen Airlines still misinterpret QAR data as being pilot error? Totally disregarding mitigating circumstances?

Are the FO's still hand flying the airplane when you, as Captain, are flying?

Do Foreign Captains still rank below Chinese FO's? (Chinese FO's disregard you, as Captain, until they verify your actions with management)

Been there done that, got the license to prove it.
Dont all chinese airlines monitor QAR data?

They do when they need it to their advantage, in either punishing you or sacking you.

Both the Chinese and Korean FOs are trained to behave as such. Unless you are fluent in their lingo, you are always number 2. You get the odd ones who were well mannered and will respectfully translate and seek your approval, rarely but does happen once a blue moon.

Cautioning anyone coming over from India, if you have the pride of Taj Mahal, suggest you drop the plan as you won't last a week here after having such pampered experience in India being regarded as someone next to God.

I guess one would have to use quite a few jokers before getting sacked as the hiring cant cope with demand...

Fly on the safe side of the curve and one will get through with no scratches..:E

I just left China ( I was at Shenzhen ) and the contract agency I initially went through is reporting a high failure rate with all Hainan group associated screenings due to the instructor pilots not agreeing with management on their foreign pilot needs. If anyone fails a screening in China now I'm told your chances at a second chance with another carrier are slim. Good luck to all of you.

What aircraft types are they hiring for?
