Copa Airlines.
Has any experienced and typed 737 expats that have applied to copa airlines heard anything back from them I applied some months ago and have not heard anything I understand they were planning on taking some non spannish speaking ex pats....?
|
Have a colleague (Belgian, but speaking Spanish) who went through everything, they wanted him to go on the Brazilian bird (even though he has thousands of hrs 737 time) & he was happy to do so & have a new TR.
For no fathomable reason they dumped him at the end, just before he was due to join, even though he passed through all the stages successfully. Very odd people by the sound of it. Edited to say, doubt the "non-Spanish" speaking bit. My colleague had to pass a Skype interview in Spanish, & it was definitely a requirement for Capts positions. Doubt the local Capt's would want to fly with some Gringo that didn't Hablo Level 4ish Spanglish ! |
There's also a requirement to submit "certificate of no accidents or incidents"... WTF? Who issues such a certificate? Never heard of this before. Ever.
|
UK CAA won't issue one, don't know about other authorities.
Your previous employer(s) may be willing to verify such on a Reference letter, but, another hoop we have to jump through that is almost impossible to fulfil. |
Who issues such a certificate? |
My previous employer issued a letter with hours and confirmation of no accident or incidents,so looks like there is no joy with COPA either :ugh:
