Small planet airlines.
Does anyone have any info about small planet Airlines, what they are like to work for pay and conditions and also current 737 TR FO recruitment, all information appreciated.
|
It appears they prefer P2F. I have many experienced FO colleagues who applied, & are still waiting to be called to selection, whereas they are interviewing guys who haven't even completed the circuits to get type on licence , and didn't even complete the TR with their "partner" Baltic Aviation Academy.
The deal on offer to them was . . Year 1 . no salary Year2 . .1500€ , increasing to 3500€ by year 5. There is a long thread about them, Baltic Aviation Academy, & Aviasolutions on the Professional Pilot Training forum. If you are already rated, sounds like a Bum deal to me. |
Thanks allot for your response, did you friends who applied apply for A320 or 737 cpt or FO I rang them about 2 weeks ago and was told to get in touch near start of march where they will take on 25 new FO's,she said there had not been a huge amount of rated 737 drivers with time on type that applied....????
|
It depends on if you have more than 500 hrs on type, if you do more than 500 hrs then you can apply directly with spa if you only hold a type with no hrs then you will have to apply to aviationcv.
But to be clear, if you do decide to go with the aviationcv you will only be doing 500 hrs with spa there is nothing in the contract to state that you will be flying for 5 years with spa. If you want any info on the tests, interview questions and sim detail. PM me. Cheers |
Ex colleagues who applied were rated on 737, generally with 300-500 hrs on type. Seems somewhat disorganised. Jobs advertised this last few mths in Poland/France /UK but no-one during screening seems to know which base is actually on offer, start date, salary (only small details I know  )
I don't know finally if /how many experienced FO's they might want. Another colleague was told they would take back those who worked for them before, & there are for sure a few of those looking for work, others have been told different dates/they would be called back ,etc etc etc. Take everything with a pinch of salt. The 5 year contract ,as 737max has hinted, requires careful reading, & was wrong on so many levels that I could not imagine anyone accepting it. := |
I have about 950 ours 737 1200 TT applied directly to SPA , via e-mail on company website, but have not heard anyhting sent them about 3 e-mails and called them 2 weeks ago,737max have you been through the spa interview/screening process...? I saw they advertised for CPT's in Manchester.do you have any idea what time of year last year they started taking on guys, this seem slike my only hope at the moment.....
|
Hi, yes I did. if you need any info about the tests please PM.
Cheers |
from my sources within the company the pay for summer contractors are:
F/O 3000EUR (payed through company in Cyprus, so no tax deducted there..) CPT 4500EUR (same fror CPT) |
Small planet - even smaller pay it would appear.

small planet
very poor management there, very poor salary offered, very poor maintenance and very old B737 300.. should I tell you more? .. they want desperate pilots flying almost for free.. I've been offered 4500 euros based out of Milan MXP and accomodation in a poor 2* hotel.. they like serbian and bulgarian (drunky) captains because they will accept their ridicolous t&c.. they pay peanuts and they'll get monkeys.
|
Lucky you, :D I was offered € 4000
Edited to say, and the icing on the cake is that they only pay 1/3 salary till final line chk + they don't pay till 15th of the month But none of this is revealed at interview, only when you rec your contract 1mth or more later :yuk: |
Last year they had lots of maintenance problems! I would not fly for them!
|
It would seem that they are reluctant to reveal any T&Cs (including base) until you receive offer of employment.
Pay your own way to Vilnius, jump through dodgy hoops, only to be offered !!!!e?!?!:= |
Like he said ! :=
|
I was contacted by them some months ago to supply them with 4 engines to buy after several weeks toing and froing they eventually said now we only want to lease one, I supplied them with the costing as per their predicted usage, the said it was to expensive they then supplied what they were willing to pay which was less than half the offered amount needless to say the engine vendor is still laughing, so if any of the B737s are AOG in the next few months because of engine issues you heard it on here first. Small planet! small minded more like.
|
Ha I was told the exact same thing apart from she said the majority of the applications came from non TR guys fresh out of training.
