B737 Experienced F/O looking for something better

Hi guys!

I'm a B737 F/O with almost 4000 TT and 3800 on Type.

Actually I work on a permanent contract in a small european airline and I'm looking for something better, like a jump onto a larger aircraft or a Captain upgrading chance (the airline I work for is not going to plan captain upgrades in the next future), possibly without swimming to Asia or UAE.:E

The worst trouble in Europe is the National language requirements by the airlines...That's something I can't tolerate! What does "European Union" mean if each EU Country can't accept just the english language!:sad:
Italian is my native language.

Anyway, hints are appreciated! :}

Thank you guys!

Just be happy with having a job right now. If you LHS there are schemes in place which require you pay if you want to, doesnt take much to find them. Just enjoy life and having a full time perm contract.

Ciao!

I, too, don't like the language requirements in Europe but what can we do?

If you are looking to move on a bigger planes and short time to command I suggest you the Middle East according to what we can read on PPRuNe.
Emirates, Qatar and Etihad. Qatar seems to have the fastest time to command.

Just read something about Qatar and I realized that's not my place :E

I know, a permanent contract is something difficult to find now and leaving it would be crazy but...if you don't like the base and the airline you are working for...looking for a better place comes easily (best if permanent of course!!)

I am also an experienced F/O, and would be happy to move Asia or ME, but I can't see where all the jobs are. It is not easy to find a WB job and there are no demand for F/Os just cadets.

Only just barely enough hours for a command and already unhappy because you can't have one just now. best get out of aviation mate as you will probably never be happy with what you have. Half of Europe out of work and would give their right arm for your job, get a life!

A permanent contract in an unstable company is worthless. It is not crazy to leave, in fact it is crazy to stay.

You say your native language is Italian, if you work for an Italian operator then the best thing is to leave as soon as possible (after thanking them VERY much, for hiring you with 200 hrs on a 737).

Prepare for the selection process (which is something that thank God does exist outside of Italy) and try Asia or EK. This is what I would do.

Good luck!
