Turkish Airlines SFI Istanbul
I've seen a request for Captain TRI/SFI for a basing in Istanbul. The agencies say it is non-flying. Curious, as I always thought at TRI had to fly. However, does anyone have personal feedback about this job? How flexible are they on workshare/part-time? I understand the pay is per hour is for 80hrs, but I suspect a sim is classified as 4 hours, not the real 7?? Any news on accommodation etc. Info much appreciated.

Flexible ? . . . Hmnnn? :hmm: may be , you will not be best served looking at Turkish/Turkey, AFAIK & as far as I have seen, flexibility is a bit of a one-way-street ( = be prepared to bend over ! )
Many of the threads on here relating to pilots conditions & adhering (or rather failing to ) the conditions of the "contract" would, I suspect, be equally applicable to the Sim jobs. The TRI position may well be regarded differently by the Turkish CAA. As far as I could see, despite being supposedly JAR, they regard/disregard which bits are convenient or otherwise, so all & everything possible. Best of British if you go for it, better man than I am Gunga Din. |
That pay comes down to about $53 if TY does not compensate you for the pre and post brief... not to mention paperwork details too.
