Im starting to wish I had never asked the question now. ..... I'm off to slit my wrists, goodby cruel world The company is going through a period of post merger change, our once great blue airline is under attack from some serious cost cutting. Its there job. They will be finished here in a couple of years and go to another formerly great airline and do the same. A big merry go round. Part of their job is to spread doom and gloom so the masses believe it and accept significant changes to their contract. To give an example, our DFO addressed pilots and cabin crew on a business briefing and explained why huge cuts were needed to pay and conditions. He cited our recent poor results as the reason. Straight away a Captain quoted both the BBC and Reuters whom both reflected that our results were at the top of expectations and everything was looking good at TUI. Did he respond, did he heck!! It didn't suit his mantra. TOM is an excellent company to work for, we have many ex Ryanair employees who find the tripe some of our serial moaners blurt out hugely comical. I say to the likes of Ella and 390, if you think Ryan is better, then bang in an application. But don't forget to get your credit card out first! Regards from a happy but still realistic about our future Dooblerchina. |
Sorry to have to tell you, but I took redundancy from TOM post merger and joined RYR, and having worked for both, I find RYR better. Modern kit, no delays and unambiguous SOPs.

Modern kit |
I think you'll find a tractor is perfect for ploughing through the grass with.

Pay deal now settled. 4.9% and proposed new flat pay scales withdrawn.
|
By flat paysacales do you mean any new joiners will still get annual increments? Or is this just for current employees?
|
Oh! Oh!
I contract for them both in a different avenue.
This year work has simply vapourised. One week in Mejico and that is it, apart from the odd day around my home patch. The model is rapidly changing :uhoh: |
Thompson, like us, are great operations but the world is changing, our (perceived) well feathered jobs will be the last of their kind and the future is without doubt in the hands of FR an EZ. It might be a cr#p outlook, but at least they don't have to worry about their employer going under every week. |
